My friend just blew his motor-- Pics inside (not 56k friendly)
NOOOOOOO.....one of the faster sohc 15g civics i've ever seen. He ran a 14.3 on a stock automatic trany!!!
And here is the hole where the rod shot out: You can see it directly to the right of the oil return line:

The car was perfectly tuned, we had about 12hrs on the dyno-- put out 175 at 7psi on auto tranny. Probably has ran a little stronger, cas' he hollowed out his cat.

somethin musta gotton sucked into the motor or something...
im running 10psi with a 12:1 FMU and nothing remotely close to that has happened to my motor.
not that that pic gives me a good feeling

hey AJ whats up? this is rideout I heard about that. It was a quick car cause i rode in it a few times. Sucks to hear and hurts to look at.

Damn that sucks,.. at least if he still plans on staying sohc it wont be as expensive as replacing a dohc engine.

what was the mileage on the motor? my boss put a turbo kit on the same motor...it had 130k on it and when the guy who was gettin' the kit put on took his car off about 2 hours or so after completion he threw a rod due to detonation.....is anything for sell?
