my friend BS'ing or what?
my friend at work told me he's friend got a swap and instead of mounting with proper mounts...he got the engine welded onto frame. this bull **** or what? even if he did...what about the flex, wouldnt that cause damage?

Are you sure he didnt mean that instead of using a mount kit, he used the factory mounts and had a couple mount locations welded?
This was common place before mount kits became main stream. Also lots of the tracks cars don't run vibration mounts at all. They use solid mounts so that they get no engine flex. This is very bad on the mounting locations, however if its a full drag car, no worries.
