My first car!!
First of all id like to say hello to everybody reading my post. I've been passioned by honda's for about a year now. I currently study the auto body and mechanic industry. The irony of all this is that i STILL do not have a car despite having a life revolved around cars.
MY question to you is: Considering my 1000-1500$ budget, what would be the best car for a teenager like me?
Thanks in advance,
Dan M.

hmm thats going to be really hard to find a nice car for that, or even a runing one...
ive seen a couple egs,das for that price but they dont run and need around 1500 to get them runing again.
what kind of car are you looking for? condition?

Best option is to start looking at Civics. You can find old Accords too, but your more likely to find a Civic in your price range (and it will more likely be in better shape).
Get used to seeing nearly all of them having high miles. As long as whatever you find has been maintenanced properly, most of the time the drivetrain will still be pretty good.
If you can get a manual, it would be better. Most of the time the manual trans. last longer in Hondas (there are exceptions to the rule of course, but this is just speaking broadly).
Good luck!

Buy a 93-95 Subaru. If you look and wait alot you can have one for around that amount.
But since this is a Honda forum...Considering your budget you could easily find an EF for that, maybe an EG, and if you're lucky an EK. It all depends on your location and the economy. Here in the midwest I've seen EKs going for not much more than your range.

I'd say get a decent EF/EG chassis and spend the rest of the money on rebuilding the motor (likely d-series) so that you KNOW its in good shape and will last you.

Keep looking for the car that YOU want. Don’t just settle on a car because it’s a good deal or it’s cheap. (Unless you need wheels like now) Remember the car that you pick is the one you have to live with. Buying the one you want is always a better idea than getting one that is easily accessible. I got my eg for $500 117,000 mi in great shape all stock no rust other than the Honda rust ( and little at that) but I looked for 3-4 months.

Re: My first car!!
it actually depends how much time you'd want to put into your car. if you just like to ride, get something used and probably personalized by the previous owner. however that'd be a risk you might not want to take. if you plan on working on your car a lot and tuning it up yourself for experience, then you will have a wider range of choices. pick any civic of your liking, and swap parts ;]

Re: My first car!!
i actuall bought my coupe for 1500. it's perfectly running. and strong at that. just be patient. dont jump the gun on the first honda or car you see cuz whatever car is cheap running and safe is the one that will take time and research to find.
