Default My Dyno Numbers Suck

It's a 92 JDM b18c with LSD. It's in a 92 4 dr lx civic

Mugen header
AEM intake
Apexi N1 exhaust
AEM cam gears
AEM fuel rail and regulator
Apexi V-AFC and ITC (only goes to 7200)
MSD ignition and coil
AEM pullies
Mugen clutch
Excedy flywheel

That's all i can think of right now but i probably have more.
MY car only made 143 hp But it made 123 tq which is pretty good but the hp sucks. Please bare with me i know the charts aren't to clear.

This first one is my hp and air/fuel

The second one is my hp and tq

The last one is my hp and tq compared to a stock GSR

Can someone tell me what's going on. I know my air/fuel is not right when i get in the higher rpm's but i was expecting more like 170 hp. I don't think there's anything wrong with the motor because it made a lot of tq. I know the ITC (ignition timing controller) only goes to 7200rpm. Can someone help me

you said jdm b18c.. b18c as in sir-G/GSR or ITR?

again, your vtec is way too low, do a leakdown test if you can't figure out the problem.

are you running a cat? If so, might want to check that to. I always give the car a tune-up before I dyno. Oil, plugs, valve job, etc etc

it's a JDM b18c as in SIR/G. It's not the ITR. But if the motor had a problem would it have made 123 tq at the wheel. I mean considering it's suppose to make 10 more hp than a USDM GSR and all the parts i have one it i was expecting atleast 170 hp. I think the motor is fine

more parts does not equate to more power. tuning more parts equates to more power.

dont believe in that 10 whp more than USDM engine bs.. and you think your motor is fine? not according to your dyno.

hope its not a JDM P72. which sucks. yes at least 10whp and 2-10lbs/ft of torque less then the USDM ECU.

also make sure that the butterflies aren't closed at all times, i had that problem on my b18c.

i dynoed higher numbers than those on a mustang dyno. about 150 whp which on a dynojet translates out to 165 whp or so. compared to type r's with bolt on's dynoed on the same dyno i had an average of 8 more whp and a max of 12 whp more than the type r's. they only got me by like 3-4 peak above 7k.
here is my setup
jdm b18c w/lsd
jdm p72 - stock
aem cai
dc 4-1
no cat
greddy PE
cam gears - +3 intake +0 exhaust
this is also with the timing retarded to 12 degrees so i dont blow it up on the zex. i prolly could have got about 4-5 whp advancing it to 18 degrees.

i dunno. i think my motor is a freak
hth

Two questions...Are you running your stock fuel pump? You should consider replacing it with a b18c one if you havent already. Secondly, they made b18c's in 92?

GET IT TUNED! All those parts do you little good w/o tuning.
Stock fuel pump is fine BTW. I ran a cx fuel pump on my gsr motor and made 168 w/ all bolt ons.

compression test?

i got my b18c motor the sir/g... it's a 94 no dyno results yet or anything, but it pulls like no other, compression test was 220, 210, 210, 210

all i have is JDM 4-1, and a exhaust, with a straight pipe.

good luck, hope your compression numbers turn out okay

that should be making at least 170.. get a thorough tune up before you dyno.

i think there is someting wrong with your motor. doesnt matter that you're making decent torque... it shouldnt be running that weak, mods or not. definitely get it tuned, but before you even do that, do a compression/leakdown test.

good luck..

Yea I think stock gsr's make around 150whp so you should be good for about 170whp.

You get that thing tuned and it should do more that 170. Which motor used the p73?

i'm gonna do a compression test today but what is exactly is a leakdown test. What is included in a leak down test. What do you guys think of my curve before i hit like 6500. I mean it looks like a nice straight curve until i get uptop
