What's up guys. Wanted to know what you guys think of my build so far. Brief summary I purchased a 94 Del Sol back in 2011 didn't want to build it just yet it was an auto si but ended up having to build it simply because I threw a rod through the block because of loss power to cylinder 3 due to a cracked valve.

This isn't my first Honda build as I came from a 92 cb7 with a mild built JDM h22 with LSD tranny I didn't do the swap as back then I was not as knowledgeable as I am now in cars but I did do everything else to that car full suspension front to back brakes everything except for internals.

Now so far ...

Now before anything I wanted a b16 build I know there are other options but this is the engine I wanted I don't care about high HP numbers I'm not into turbos just want a poor man's ctr that's reliable and within my budget. Thanks.

I completely took everything out of the engine bay changed the pedals to manual got the shift linkage I need. Purchased a JDM b16 from a crx sir with original cable tranny y1 non LSD :-(

The bottom end is already built had the block decked hot tasked and bored 20 over with ctr pistons (Nippon) as I know a few people that are happy with those pistons. Acl race bearings stock size stock connecting rods.

Next is the head going to go full port and polish with super tech dual springs and super tech flat valves titanium. My buddy did the same set up he's pushing 198 to the wheels all motor.

Those are his dyno runs.

Anyhow back to the sol the suspension is almost complete every rubber component has been changed out for energy suspension polyurethane

Blox front upper and rear control arms. Esp traction bar eBay strut bar kit all 4. All I need to save up for is fftype 1 suspension.

Brakes Brembo rotors on carbon ceramic pads all I need is again save for Ss brake lines.

I have a few questions like
What engine bracket do I use my engine came out of a crx and bracket does not work with my new motor mounts and tranny mount I think the one I need is for cable tranny but the guy said I need the hydro one for the Sol.

Old engine with hole in the block and my new b16 well the bottom end at least

Looks good, you need eg mounts for b series..since you have cable style tranny, you can either get a hydro tranny, or get hydro to cable conversion kit

Hmm hydro to cable conversion? I know what you mean but at the same time confused. I have the hydro clutch set already but was thinking about removing it for full on cable set up would I still need the conversion? Or just the right tranny mount?

I'm doing this on my own because my friend that were willing to help kinda flaked and I can be **** about doing things right the first time vs half fasting things.

Also I have all the after market mounts already just the brackets that came on the b16 I think are intended for the Rex

Yes, im positive that 92-00 civics use hydro tranny, you have a cable tranny right? The flywheel will work, but the clutch disc wont because the clutch disc for cables are smaller..you could just get the c..if i was you, id buy a hydro tranny. It seems theres alot of mixing up going in your build lol.

Heres what i found on this topic from a while back

All B-series trannys from 92+up will use the CLUTCH DISC with the Bigger spline.

The 90-91 B-series trannys will use the CLUTCH DISC with the smaller spline, because they have a smaller input shaft.

All B-series Pressure Plates will be the same no matter if its CABLE or Hydro.

ThrowOut Bearings will be different between a CABLE tranny and a HYDRO tranny.

Yeah I have the cable tranny I don't have extra money to spend buying another tranny therefore I wanted to use the cable tranny I have. As far as my clutch pedal assembly I was just going to get the cable clutch assembly from an integra 90-92 if I'm correct so I used basically everything OEM. If I went that route would I still need a conversion kit? Or just the correct mount for that particular tranny I'll take pictures in the morning of the motor mounts.

By spline you mean half shaft right? So my half shaft won't work? Can I just change that.

Yea that would work also. As stated, youd need a cable clutch disc instead of the hydro one for your set up, then you should be good to go, and yes, youd need a cable tranny mount.

Hhaha, its cool man, i ment clutch disc for a hydro tranny. Yes get the cable tranny mount, and the cable clutch disc, and throw it in your car. Im sure others will chime in on anything i missed, but i feel thats pretty much everything.

You have pics of the cb7?

Here is a question. OK so I ordered the motor mounts. From eBay in having a problem because the seller first said they would work and he's saying they won't only because he sent me a hydro transmission mount and I asked him prior to send me the cable trans mount I knot the engine will work because all I have to do is change the engine brackets. Does anyone have pics of the correct mounts for a JDM b16 sir mounts so I can show this guy

This what I got is this correct besides the transmission one.

OK so here is a question maybe someone can answer this the mounts they sent me were the wrong ones.

Refresher my swap is a 1st gen JDM b16 sir has everything from the crx. Would the crx tranny mount work since its a cable tranny on the Del Sol or should I use the DA 92-93 tranny mount?

I already have the cable clutch pedal and cable lines installed in the Del Sol. Would the crx motor mounts let engine sit correctly? Because I was told I should not mix and match or use DA mounts?

Just buy a cable to hydro conversion mount from innovative/hasport etc. They're about $150. Too much headache switching all that other stuff to Maybe not have it work

Engine mounts you need b16 mounts 92-95 civic and a 2 bolt post mount from a 99-00 si em1

Thanks Marvin but I already have the cables and pedal assembly in the car so that's not a problem. My delema is motor mounts. Since I'm running a y1 trans that came with car. What motor mounts would work? 92 DA? Or sir b16 that's where I'm confused ive been looking online for a couple of hours with not to many good results.

I'm thinking these would work because that's what's used in ls swaps with cable tranny in 92 95 civic/Sol swaps

I have to admit you guys are right on using a hydro trans vs cable not because it cannot be done but simply that damn motor mount is 250$ from innovative when I already have the mounts I'm just looking for b series hydro case and switch ask the internals
