My Custom Wrapped EM1-EK Rear Seats - Type R Inspired
So I finally got around to digging out my seats and taking some pictures of them. I had these wrapped by a local upholsterer with a custom fabric that I had to order. Some of you may have seen my interior build thread and the suede I used to wrap the headliner and door panels.
This material is completely different. This material had to be strong enough to be sat on and able to hold up over time. I had originally bought the material and dropped off the seats to be done by a gentleman I knew that used to restore Model T interiors in his spare time. CRAZY CRAZY nice work. Unfortunately the week he was supposed to work on my seats he passed away after battling a local fire as acting Fire Chief and having respiratory problems. It took me a bit to get my seats and fabric back unfinished as his son who worked with him took some time to get back into his dads shop.
I originally had a full EM1 interior. I took out the front seats and still have them in storage and replaced them with the JDM ITR Red Recaros. I then took my back EM1 seats that fit perfectly (no gaps/direct mount) and removed the fabric and had them re-wrapped. So essentially this is a EM1 rear seat setup that is re-wrapped.
I finally got the seats back and brought them to a very reputable shop that is local and does great work. I dropped them off on the morning, and they were done at 5pm. An they look absolutely amazing. The pictures do these seats absolutely no justice. Also they are BLACK. When taking the picture it shows up a little lighter. (Just like the ITR Seats)
Take a look and let me know what you guys think! (the wrinkles are from havin some things layin on them...foam will push back out)
then i wrote "Hi" on the suede in middle back section to show texture

I have some gripes with them but they're your seats. If you don't want them turning that color for real you better treat them with some kind of UV protectant.
This should really go in the Appearance forums anyway. No tech here.
