Default my car's a *!?!*?! -- trying to get lights working in cluster

okay so I traded a good friend of mine his hatch for my hatch. car has a b16 with all sorts of wiring crap that people thought would be a good idea over the years. so I ripped all that crap out..... the car had a aftermarket guage cluster and I swapped it out with a stock one and now the guage lights dont work.

Ive searched everwhere and cant figure out anything...... guys have any ideas what wires to look at for lights for the cluster? fuses to check?

other cluster lights quit working when I took a bunch useless wiring crap out of the car.... the old cluster had a green and blue back round and had its own dimmer switch.

When i got my hatch the gauge cluster lights didn't work either, I found out that something in it wasn't grounded right. I am just saying, I ended up getting a SiR cluster and that fixed it completely. So it could be the wiring or the cluster.

Check 10A dash fuse 19. If it's fine, unplug the dimmer switch connector, turn the light switch on, and check whether the Red/Blk wire in the connector has battery voltage to body ground.

You need to test installed fuse 19 for voltage on BOTH top test tabs with the light switch on.

yes I did this...... still got nothing even with the correct fuse...... do you think the wiring could be cooked because of the higher amp fuse being in there?

If fuse 19 is not getting voltage, then this it telling you to test the light switch. Also install a 10A fuse into the fuse 19 slot.

The old cluster was on a aftermarket dimmer switch. Im going to see tonight if the dimmer switch is hooked upp to the fuse panel.
