My car is powered by coal...
Just want some ideas on my problem... I just got my car back together. The block was sleeved and built by AEBS. They used 84mm ross pistons and rings I believe.
The big issue is this. The car smokes like hell. I have oil droplets coming out of the exhaust and I can see oil on top of my pistons when I take the plugs out. I have been really easy on the motor so far - to make sure it breaks in good. It isn't tuned quite right yet but it is pretty close. It has about 105 miles on it so far, but they tell me that it may take 2000 miles for breakin.
I think that the rings aren't sealing right, but I wanted some other oppinions.
Thanks in advance,
Jeremy

i usually break in by putting cylinder pressure ont eh rings to force them to seal better, driving it like a little old lady usually ends up resulting in a car that leaks oil, doesnt seal well and makes less power.

Agreed.
You may have been too easy on the motor during initial break in, and may have to re-ring it.
