my 98 civic wont rev past 2500rpms
my 1998 honda civic sedan lx d16y7 wont rev past 2500rpms when i put it to the floor.then if i hold it to the floor it slowly idles down to 1200-1500rpms. the code thrown is p1106 which is barometric pressure sensor which is in the ecu and ive tried 3 different ecus. i have good fuel pressure. i changed the dizzy. checked the ecu ground on the thermostat housing and its got me beat trying to figure it out

Re: my 98 civic wont rev past 2500rpms
This sounds like a bad MAP sensor to me. I've had dozens of Civics and Accords with this problem and the problem is usually one of two things; timing belt off or bad MAP sensor. I would pop off the timing cover and move crank to TDC to check the marks and if they're good then I'd move to swapping out the MAP sensor for a known good one. I guess you can swap MAPs first if you have one on hand since it's easier, but I feel strongly that either of those two is the cause.

could be a bad injector or injector pulse they might be dirty if it just started ive heard of this happening because of it but mostly on older civics like ef's
