My 2000 si manual problem
Alright, i own a 2000 civic si, black, and i had my brother driving it to work, because he didnt have a car at the time, he made the short shifter loose, and now i have replaced the short shifter, the shifter was grinded off at the bottom where u connect it to the rod going to the tranny, and i put a brand new one in, it makes a grinding noise when ur in a low medium rpm , say as if i was going 70 on the highway, and the petal was half way down just crusing on 70 it would make this grinding noise , untill i gave it gas..... any ideas?

Shift linkage hitting the exhuast? Are you sure it is coming from the shifter?
I have never heard of someone making the shifter "loose" by just driving.

Re: My 2000 si manual problem
ebay exhaust probably, but yes your shifter can bang against your exhaust if either is not installed correctly. Look under your car and look at the the bolts holding your shift linkage to the bottom of your car. One or both of the bolts are probably loose which is causing it to feel loose. It is also probably hanging lower as well and it is probably vibrating against your exhaust. Very simple. Just go look at it.
If your car is not turbo, why in the world do you have a 3in exhaust on there? Your loosing lots of power.
