Default Multiple MILS, plus cannot get out of park

To give back story, I got this car very cheap. Its a 98 civic LX auto. Engine harness was shorted along with several wires under the dash burnt. I replaced the engine harness with a known good harness, and repaired the burnt ones under the dash. I did replace the 7.5 Amp fuse under the dash and it has not popped. I cleared codes and same ones come back.

Fast forward to last nite/today. I have RPM hunting (My TPS could be a culprit for the trans not shifting. It is showing -1 % but does sweep on my genisys datastream.) along with the following CELS

P0135-Oxygen sensor heated circuit sensor 1

P0141 heart element circuit bank 1 sensor 2

P0700 Trans control system.

Also had a trans code 5-01 Automatic transmission range switch gear position short.

I do not have access to my Mitchells on demand at home so anyone can give me more info Id appriciate it.

well the heater code's won't affect shifting there just to help get the sensors up to temp. you can test them for resistance and make sure with the key on you have battery voltage. have you removed the center console and checked the wire's at the shiftier and on the steering column ? does the trans shift if you put the key in the shift lock ? does it have an auto ecu in it ?

Turn the key to ON(II) and test whether both top test tabs of 7.5A dash fuse 15 have battery voltage to body ground. Likewise test 7.5A dash fuses 25 and 33.

Im not really worried about the O2 sensors, just giving all info if it is pertenant to another issue. My DVOM crapped out on me last nite so I could not test voltage, and I left my test light at work. Ill make sure I test Voltage, but I did replace both those fuse with known good ones.

Thanks for the check chart Ron. It will help with the info I got on hand. :D Ill update this evening.

Well, All fuses are good. It would appear that the TPS is bad, which would cause the shift interlock to not work. It would also be a possible cause of the lack of power that I have, along with the RPM hunting in neutral or park.

I still need to figure out the p0700, and Will be starting that now. I gotta find a TPS tho, NAPA Advance and the local parts store dont have em on hand or even order them. Grrr.

Have you voltage tested the TPS?

I get no response on the 5v reference side of the TPS. Before I replace tho, I am going to go over the dash side of the harness that burned up. I might have missed a wire to repair because when I tested for the O2 sensor, it said to check for an issue with the wire to the 7.5 amp fuse #15. I found one on Ebay I might grab because Im tired of tracing this stuff down. Im also starting to think the PCM is bad. Too many things are pointing to that in the diagnostic checks.

If the three TPS wires are properly pinned to the ECU, then the lack of voltage at the TPS plug would have one of two possible causes: 1) The wire for reference voltage between the TPS plug and ECU is broken or 2) the ECU is bad.

Ron, After looking at the harness from the engine harness to the under dash/fuse harness, I decided to replace it also. Even tho I repaired the wiring, the damn pins keep falling out of the connectors. I just have to find one on fleabay. Also, thinking Im gonna replace the ECU. Too much of the troubleshooting Im doing is leading to a bad ecu.

Sooooo....If anyone reads this and has a spare ECU for a 98 LX auto and the main harness under the dash, let me know. :D I need em.

UPDATE! Threw in another ECU, all trouble codes except the P0700 is out, and I still cannot get the car out of park. On my Genesys data stream, the TPS is showing -1% at closed, and the 4th gear status keeps flipping from on to off while in park. Any ideas before I start to pull wires and sensors again? Any help would be great. ALSO still looking for the main harness for a d16y7 LX auto 4 door, that runs under the dash.

P700 and the blinking D4 light tell you a transmission code is thrown. Use a code reader or jump the service connector to pull the transmission code. Is it P1705/D4 code 5?

When I go through the scan tool into transmission data I get a 5-01 code for a AT selector switch short or malfunction IIRC. MY O2 sensor codes are gone along with some of the other wierd things I had.
