to much oil wtf??

Default to much oil wtf??

i changed my oil just now on my 99si and i know it takes 4.2 quarts i put in 4 quarts went to check it and its above the top line i have no idea why? can i just drain some of it or what im not sure how its past the line dosnt make sense to me and yes i let it drain out completely for like half an hour.

yea i turned it on let it idle forl ike 5 minutes checked it again and about the samereading maybe a tiny bit less its about 2-3 of those holes above the max one

Did you run the car prior to changing oil? If you run the car, you'll have oil in your filter and stuff.

i ran the car but let it sit for an hour and a half or so before changing the oil

how long did u leave the engine to drain out all the oil? if its not up to temp wen u drain it, it takes ages... specially in this weather. did u use a flush?

let it drain until it stopped dripping so about half an hour and thats after letting the car cool after an hour and 30 or so

yes i changed the filter,first change on this car ive done the truck we used to have before ,i cant find my ruler so lets say this is the dip stick

end of stick-&gt; |_ 0__0_|&lt;---- is where my oil lvl is at after oil change

sorry if that dosnt make sense i cant find my measure anywhere

if your sure you drained all the oil and you put in 4.2 quarts your fine man, stick or tube angle must be fucked up or something stupid like that.......
