Default Which motor would you put on my car?

I have a '93 Civic EX 4DR and I believe I have a D16Y6 SOHC V-TEC engine. I'm looking for an engine swap in the future. Assuming money is not a problem, which engine swap would you do if you were me?

ITR if you have the cash but if you dont ls/vtec,or b20, gsr wont be bad but not as strong as ls/vtev and b20, a b16 with a good clucth and fly would rock.

You have a d16z6 engine for the record (SOHC VTEC).

I will say, go with the B18c5, Im feeling rather type R-ish tonight. Maybe tomorrow I will suggest an H22. Whatever the case, do some research and start saving money. Oh, and when you swap, send me your crappy d16z6.

Assuming money is not a problem?

K20A from JDM Type R

There's nothing that will touch that motor stock vs. stock in terms of FF Honda engines - nothing.

Now do you want to give us some more details, or will this topic go way out of hand with "Lambo V12 motor y0!" because you have left it way too wide open for discussion?

You want to leave it N/A or boost it?

You want O.E mounts or don't mind a mount kit?

What do you want from the car? Drag only, auto-X, Road race, nothing but street use, mix and match of any/all, what?

Boooo . Actually, if money wasn't a problem or an issue with you, the K20A from a Type R would be very cool, or any B-series setup that's 2.0L or more, any H22 setup that's built up.... FI added to any of those setups would be a nice touch .

But bottomline, realize what your car is going to be used for, what your intensions and ultimate plans for it are, and how much you actually want to dump into it.... that is what's going to be your deciding factor.

wow I never knew there is such an engine as K20A for my civic...with the right mounts of course...sound super strong. I'll research on that.

My goal is to pimp up an ENDURANCE 92-95 Civic 4DR (*many are 2DR/HB) with nice bodykits/aerodynamics....and a very powerful engine performance (B16A and up w/ turbo)...tune to the max! I might need some O.E. mounts.

I'm hoping to get it done in the future and go to many shows.

Like I said if monewy truly is no problem then the K20A Type R engine is the answer.

Theses eninges are capable of putting down over 200whp with simply intake and exhaust mods with Hondata ECU tuning.

No other Honda engine can touch the K20A in terms of bolt-ons performance - period.

Now if you're dead set on boost then get a B series engine and boost it. Boost hasn't been sorted out yet with the K Series, and B series eninge on boost can lay down 250whp on 6psi (or more if you have 2.0L B series) up to and over 500whp on higher boost and race gas.

If you're really after a monster then either go h22+boost or crvtec+boost and aim for at least 12psi,,,you'll have at least 300whp on a car that weights less than 2500lbs !

that's why i suggested crvtec+boost or h22+boost...both pose challenges just to assemble/swap

B20 and 2nd gen B16 tranny (sorry don't know my tranny codes).

That's what I'm saving for anyway. I just want a dependable daily driver w/ some pick up.
