Default motor selection

Ok, I have a 1996 del sol vtec that wont start, I think it might be a serious problem so I find a motor for a good price, its a B18B1 motor, now I looked up the specs on the motor, looks like a little bit more tor, but less hp and no vtec, so would this motor work in my car? The guy has the ecu for it as well, So should I get it, or just if I cant figure out the problem to mine, just remove the head and go from there, if the car jumped timing then I'm thinking head damage? Which if thats the case, thats a whole hell of alot easier then a new motor, thanks.

if you have a del sol vtec, then the only decent upgrade is a b18c1 or c5.

a b18b1 is a downgrade from the b16a you have.

Maybe find out why your Sol won't start before you go and do a heart transplant.

U can typically find another b16 longblock for not too much more than a b18b, I wouldnt go Non-vtec if ur already running the b16.

First things first tho, try n figure out what UR problem is and go from there don't jump to conclusions it comes back to bite u in the ***!!
