Default Motor desisions....

I need to get a new motor for my car, and I have kinda narrowed it down to a few....now I need help desiding

I can put a LS or B20 on a b16 trans

I found a B16a that I may be able to get

And then there is the D15b that is like a D16z6

I just don't know what I should do for my DD....

if your looking to get a sohc and try to beef it up a d15 or d16 would be good get the d15 and do a mini me swap.run vtec.it depends on all what you wanna do and what plans you have and wanna do if you wanna turbo or spray it.

Bout time we had another one of these, the one from 5 minutes ago is getting stale.

If you need help with YOUR motor, you need to consult YOU.

not our car, not our decision, this topic has been covered umpteen-thousand times.

Do a forum specific search in THIS forum for "what swap" and see what you get.

You'll find plenty of information that can help you narrow down good choice.

I need somthing better than a d15b8 and it will be my DD....I drive 6 miles to work so nothing like a turbo is needed or wanted...

I just want to know will the LS/b20 with the b16 trans be much faster than the D15b?

yeah a B20 with a b16 tranyn wuold be like a torque monster..but with the low rpms of the b20, and SHORT gearing of the b16 tranny...that would kinda suck ***** IMO. ANYTHING will be much stronger than the D15B8 which is like a 75hp motor. D15b, or GSR would be my choice tho.

B16 tranny is very short-geared. A B20 cruising at 70 on the freeway will be spinning at 4000rpm. Fine on a B16A (it's designed to do that), annoying on a B20 (it's not designed to do that).

Yes its an automatic, and it also has the crappy aftermarket looking aluminum retainers that break, and a lower redline.
