motor build... would like advice
ok, so im new to the forum and would like to know what everyone thinks of my motor build plan. any advice or suggestions would be awsome.
B16B type R
stroking it with ls crank and rods
haven't decided on pistons yet(stock ctr pistons will have a c/r of 13+)
buddy club stage 3 cams
buddy club titanium cam gears
buddy club valve springs and retainers
AEM V2 intake
DC sports header
hondata S300
debating on doing an ITB set up on it off a honda cbr. is there any intake manifolds that are better than the oem part, im planning on keeping this a daily driven all-motor build. thanks

Re: motor build... would like advice
doesn't look like a bad start, Just keep in mind there are plenty of other expenses to be incurred when building a motor properly, most of which will be spent at the machine shop as far as balancing, multi-angle valve job, etc..
A few questions though, why the b16b block? seems like an expensive choice considering you could get a whole b16a engine from hmotorsonline.com for $1000, then buy the CTR pistons. You could save alot of money this way since you plan on changing out the cams, rods, crank... etc..
What is the overall goal with the car? is it going to be primarily a track car? If you plan on driving any distances, whether it be to track events or meets, i would reconsider a little more mild compression ratio.
*EDIT* just saw that you planned on keeping this as a daily, in which case i would DEFINITELY reconsider that compression ratio. and i would not do ITB's.

ah just a couple more things
for your header i would go with a hytech replica header, they produce the most power (as far as i know)
and for intake i would go ebay 3" SRI with a blox velocity stack

ah and also IIRC the LS rods would need shaved to accept the CTR pistons anyhow.
use this easy compression calculator from FFsquad to help you out.

Re: motor build... would like advice
im going with the b16b block mainly cuz im getting a full motor swap for the price of a gsr with an lsd. i dont plan on using the ctr pistons because ill have to run race gas almost to keep from pre-detonation. was thinking maybe a b16a2 or a gsr piston to drop it down a bit. im not sure about the cams though, wether they're a bit too agressive for a daily. im gonna check out that header and intake manifold for sure. thanks

Just go with ITR crank rods and pistons.. It's basically the same thing as the Spoon stroker kit.. Here are some different combo's you can run on the B16b block.. All a B16b is is a de-stroked B18c/5
All compression numbers below are based on 81mm bore, using the rods that match the crank (ls rods with ls crank and GSR/ITR rods with GSR/ITR crank), b16a/b head, and stock head gasket:
-ITR/GSR crank and GSR/ITR rods with CTR pistons: 12.74
-ITR/GSR crank and GSR/ITR rods with JDM P73-00 ITR pistons: 11.32
-ITR/GSR crank and GSR/ITR rods with JDM P30 B16a pistons: 11.27
-LS crank and LS rods with CTR pistons: 13.0
-LS crank and LS rods with with JDM P73-00 ITR pistons: 11.53
-LS crank and LS rods with JDM P30 B16a pistons: 11.48
