Default More power out of my 97 dx

Im looking to get some more power out of my clean silver 97 dx, d16y8 So far i got intake, plugs, wires, belts, cam gear, dynomax exhaust. I ripped it apart and cleaned it People are telling me to just turbo it, but im not the richest man in the world so its a little difficult for me to blow 3k on a turbo kit, anyone have any recomendations?

home made turbos are only like 700ish. adj cam gear is useless without a cam and tuning

Great minds think alike. I've always been fond to a good suspension setup over speed, but that's just me. And yes, a homemade turbo setup will run under $1000 if you shop around. However, it's a D series. Yes, they can be fast but most people on here will tell you to get a b18c and boost that.

Yeah but if he can't afford a turbo then he obviously can't afford a GSR swap

at OP:
ur best bet is to turbocharge it w/ a homemade system for like 600-800 if you shop really good... Like hte first resposne said, the cam gear is useless w/o a cam and even w/ it on a single cam u won't pull much extra hp outta it, ur best bet with a D series for any additional power w/o doing internals is turbo...or you can go N/A and pull the engine, bore it, put new internals in it....but that'll cost u a lot more..
