More on the GSR intake secondaries...
I was looking for this link and finally found it. This is about over riding the secondary butterflies and leaving them open. Got it off the GSR forum.

Interesting...I'll try overriding the secondaries one day just for the hell of it. Or maybe at a track or dyno...see if it really makes a difference.

True.
Then again, I was at the track once, and all these kids were going ape-**** over this 95 dx with a d16z6 swap. All it had was an intake and like 10 miles of green wire loom. The guy said it's just a stock motor.
One of the kids in attendance said, "What stock!, look at all that!."
Idiots these days.

...so what is the difference. NOTHING in the top end. Midrange is lost though. The longer primary runners create more velocity in the intake manifold, resulting in better cylinder filling at midrange rpms.
Bypassing runners.

HOW can it make more power up top?? Ok, so they are bypassed so they are allways open. They are also opened for high rpms when they aren't bypassed.......

I didn't read the article but a quick easy way to "bypass" the IAB is to shove a BB into the vac line for the IAB. It'll never move.
I tend to agree with everyone else, though, that this doesn't provide any gains whatsoever.

My mistake, I mis-spoke. Ericks Racing uses a GUTTED GSR manifold, not a bypassed one. They removed all secondary related fixtures, not just leave the butterflies open. I agree, it is retarded to bypass them. I apologize for my mistake.

he PORTED his gsr intake manfiold and did NOT bypass the gsr secondaries.
This gives him all the high end needs while keeping the low end
