Torque or not, it's still a fun car to drive and looks good too. If you want torque later on you can get a B18 or B20 shortblock for pretty cheap.

i wouldnt even bother switching over the a b16a2 Si, stock the best ive seen one run is 16flat, maybe on a good day you can get one to run 15.9, but for the 4 - 9 grand price difference your gonna pay between the 2 cars i dont see how you can justify that, you wont be any faster and you could easily just buy or build up your own turbo setup and still be cheaper and wayyy faster

dont waste your time unless your into hype and into wasting money

jdm is 170hp and us is 160hp look up the figures, then look at the motor specs, find a difference other than one having no cat please i would like to know bc there isnt one, possibly the ecu might have different maps but that would be about the only thing other than no cat

The pistons are different, which results in a higher compression ratio. Why don't you do some homework before spouting bs.

I drive the DOHC, I'd take it over the Z6 every day of the week. 8.2k redline is just more fun, your SOHC doesn't do it. It's going to knock off much more from your 1/4 mile than this hondapimp person claims, heck if he knew what he was talking about, he wouldn't be spouting bs about catalytic converters. If you want torque, then you shouldn't be driving a Honda, B18, B20, none of them have anything compared to real torque.

10:2(usdm) and 10.4:1(jdm) compression is not 10HP so how about you do YOUR hw

if you wanna get TRUELY technically its bc they rate theirs in PS not in HP, and if you wanna get even more technically hp is an imagniary # anyhow

dont step to me little child

You're the one sitting here saying "find a difference other than one having not cat"

That's not technical, that's stupid. They make ~168-170hp at the crank, I couldn't care less how imaginary you think it is or how "they" measure it.

sohctodohc, find someone smarter than this piece of work before you go deciding anything. Better yet, find a DOHC to drive and see for yourself.

The 99-00 si's are fun to drive with I/h/e they aren't really all that fast but high reving and a good time. I personally would rather have a b series than a d series. More potential really. However, look at your overall budget and whp desire then you can make an educated decision. Plus it's always nice to drive a newer car than some old rattle trap piece of crap.

I personnally have a 00 SI and it's fun as hell but I've dumped a ****-load of money into it.

sohc has vtec,

vtec has never really made me that amazed, it's cool and a little louder but I know of really nice B20's or B18's that don't have the vtec and are still freakin fast.
