Miss Fire and something worse???
Al;right so basically
1. the car is bogging and miss firing at a constant speed.
2. Check engine codes reveal random missfiring in cylinders 1 and 2.
3. Take off the distributer check the cap and rotor (could be changed but can't because all stores are closed)
4. Put back together re-install and change spark plug wires.
Now the car's lights brighten and dim coinstinously and rythmically while the engine rpm (on idle) increases and decreases as the lights brighten and dim.
The odd time the car stops brightening and dimming the rpm is at 100 - 200 (shakes and feels like it is going to stall)
When the car does stall (stalling under normal circumstabces) it has a hard time starting back up as if the rpm slowly increases to its normal idle resting rpm.
Now the starter turns over very slowly but the car is still able to start.
I don't know what coyld be causing this can anyone help me???

bad fuel filter or clogged fuel injectors. buy a complete fuel system cleaner from autozone $7 bux and see if it fixs it. or change the spark plug wires.

Check the ignition cap and rotor button. If not that, I'd check the grounds and make sure that you've got enough of them properly connected.

today i changed out my cap and rotor button. It stopped for a little while but then started all over again. I need to get this cleared up by this weekend so i can go to the drag strip.

try tapping your fuel rail. I tapped mine a few times lightly with a small hammer and it stopped misfiring. Try that and see what it does.

Clean your Injectors with injector cleaner. Make sure ALL of your grounds are correct. Pull out the plug for the VSS and clean/dry it off and your speedo should work again.
Does it misfire all the time? it might be possible that you plugged in your spark plug wires in the wrong order (my friend did this one time) and had basically the same problem.

i checked my screen and it is clean. ran some fresh oil over it to make sure it wasnt dirty when i put it back in. replaced my header today and it is running fine. dont know if that was causing the problem or not but it is running great right now.
