if you do the mini-me set up right it will come out with more horsepower, than a stock d16z6..but why not just buy whole engine(d16z6) pimp out cams and port and polish head, ext... then turbo the bastard.......all need to say...

If swapping is an option, just save a little longer and get a B series swap.

Otherwise, just get a mini-me head swap done, it'll be cheaper than swapping out the engine as a whole...and you'll be very close if not at the same HP as a z6.

I would say the whole swap.

Simply put(given everything comes with the swap):

entire engine-duh
closer geared tranny
p28 ecu

Even if you go with just mini me, to achieve more from it, you will need a vtec tranny. You'll also need to look for a p28 ecu, which can go anywhere from 50 to 150 bucks.

i already have every thing for the z6swap minus tranny..still using hydro dx one. i got the whole swap for a deal. 200$ came with everything. just needs headgasket and had only 39xxx. would it be better if i just went with the z6. and buy cam and pistons? cause its goin in the shop till completed. thanx.

you can do a pretty nice NA build on the sohc...

I have a spare I'm building up to mate with my existing head.

New block- p29 pistons(from a 88-89 D16A1 engine), shot peened Z6 rods, balanced, fresh EVERYTHING, etc. The pistons will need a little "modifying", depending on your setup. My head is milled .020 and I will probably have to grind the 2 valve reliefs on the piston into one big relief. This will lower my compression slightly, which will be great since I only want to run on 92. These pistons generally yield anywhere between 11.8-12.3 to 1 CR.

My head is ported/polished, milled, valve job, and Zex cam advanced 4 degrees via AEM cam gear. It pulls great with my current, but in bad shape stock bottom end. This is a VERY cheap build that could get you between 150 and 165 whp depending on tuning

Search around as the build ups have been covered.

I say stick with the Z6 bottom end, and get a Si/EX tranny

The P29 pistons yield 13.6:1 CR with the 1992-1995 D16Z6 head according to the C-Speed Racing CR chart.

I'd go with the 1986-1987 Integra pistons because they will yield a safer 11.6:1 CR.

The 86-87 Integra pistons have a 1.3cc dome on them while the 88-89 ones have the 7.2cc dome on them!
