Me and The Silver Surfer
Bought this beast of a machine about two months ago. Bought it with a blown head gasket. Had a shop "fix" the head gasket issue and low and behold it still persists. Only thing i've done so far is put on lowering springs a set of used rims i had and new tires. Bought a header from amazon and the collector part is 2 inches to short so that pissed me off a little but it is what it is.I have the front bumper but i'm going to buy a front clip and replace it. Going to be picking up an engine from jdm alliance up in Dallas and installing at my job. I'm fixing it up to daily so i can stop driving my diesel every day. Car has dings and dents but i just want to get it to go from a to b and thats about it. Also have the side skirt just not installed

I wasn't going to swap the motor that's why i had the head gasket done originally. I took a head from another Y7 i pulled from another car i bought a few months back to the machine shop yesterday to get a quote on a valve job and have it surfaced plus the fee for them testing it to make sure it didn't have any cracks is 300. If i did just that i would still have to check the block for signs of warpage still. Or i could pay an extra 325 and get a jdm engine which of course i wish i would have done in the beginning.

If the headgasket is still the issue then take it back to whomever did it and tell them to correct it.. if it was done properly then you wouldve no issue.

Yeah i know if he did it right it wouldn't be sitting in my backyard right now lol but it is what it is. If he couldn't do it right the first time getting paid i know damn sure he's not going to give a damn on something he messed up on. I just chocked it up as a lesson learned.

x2 also the head could not be the only culprit.. the deck of the block needs to be check as well if it keeps happening

Yeah i know i would have to check the block out as well. But here in lies the dilemma lol. I could just buy a new engine put it in on saturday and be done with it or waste more time on it and let it sit since i would have to take it then hope that the guy actually does his job right this time. I dont get much time to do anything with my car or truck so i just want to get it squared away the quickest.

Buy the jdm motor. Swap it in and call it a day.
theres no dilema. You taking a chance on your spare block just to have it look at and inspected. You are spending money there. Then if your spare block is a dud, guess what. You now go buy the jdm motor you intended to. So how much money will you be throwing away then?
