Re: MDX motor in a civic.... (boostedeghatch)
There is no real way to get that big *** 3.5L V6 under the hood without maybe moving the frame.
In short, a V6 in a civic: There is ONLY one option.
And this is the same option as putting a small block V8 in one.
Get a welder, and a superlative body guy.
Put it in the back of a CRX, where the trunk is, and you'll have no trunk, but you'll have a RWD mid engined civic. I know someone who did that, runnin 10s. Ai think after he put a blower on that V8 in the rear of that thing it ran maybe 8s, but that has Nitro too I believe.
Oh yeah, a CRV motor (1st gen) is only a 2.0L 4 cylinder, as opposed to a 1.6L engine stock.

signal auto has a quad cam NSX motor in there EK but it begs the question
what's the point
if you car is at a level it could make use of this power I doubt you would need to ask this question
Personally I'm suprised so many people swap out there d series in the first place when they have no real goals for there car other than making it faster which can be done many other ways and for less money

Yea, but there Volkswagen. There crazy, thats expected. They made a 16 cylinder 4 turbo engine, they make the beetle, the make a W12, a W8, and I think there the only other company besides honda to make a straight 5! Only other company I would expect to do something this nuts is Mazda, cause there crazier. Should start a new thread for this, hehe.

Re: MDX motor in a civic.... (specv5150)
a tube chasis was not required - and there would be no more cutting involved than when mini truckers have there rear frame rails c notched for clearance
place racing had a kit for the 3.2L V-6 into and EK awhile ago but I only ever saw 1 car like that
the main problem with that swap would be hood clearance

Re: MDX motor in a civic.... (DewMota)
yeah, that would be like putting an odyssey engine inside of a civic, no real point, just a lot of spent money for 265hp you can just spend less money in fabrication to turbo the engine or something like that and make well over 300hp with money to spare

Re: (ShadyEH2)
But isnt it a Honda engine. I was alwasy under the impression that the rodeo/passport that Honda had was based ont eh isuzu chassis but had its own engine. And if I am not mistaken, I thought that combination or whatever was over with......
