Re: maybe needing a new streering rack? (whoDAT)
i seem to hear a popping noise when turning the steering wheel a lil bit theres some play b4 the car turns and i just totally made power streering ever never usable again by going to manual and cutting all the lines out. the car is old now i know that and has seen alot of track time this year. so besides that i did want to revamp the suspension alltogether for next season if i do keep the car.( wnna autox and still reg. drag race)

could be axel. see if the tierod end is busted, balljoint..bellowboot=rock boot is leaking.. or get an alignment.. they will let u know or ask for a visual inspection (undercar) .. or jack ur car up and shake the wheel or tire back and fourth to see if any play.. so u can trace it to the suspension prob.. pm me if u confused

When you removed power steering, did you loop the lines so that the rack would still have fluid in it? That fluid lubricates the rack and if you simply remove the lines and run the rack dry, then it will wear out very fast. If you've been driving around wih a dry rack, then I would say it's probably toast by now.
