Re: Manual to Auto (return_2020)
I'm not going to make a vote but heres a serious suggestion. How bout you sell your 03 Civic Ex and get another good car to start off with. I.E any civic from 92-00 thats already manual or a DC2?

Re: Manual to Auto (return_2020)
I've done a manual swap for a 2002 Civic LX and trust me, it's quite a hassle. First off, the subframe off the automatic car is different from the manual car, mainly due to the location of the front engine bracket. You will also need the stopper for the that corresponding bracket. But some of the parts were actually easier on the 2002 than the 92-00 Civic. The new civics uses a cable shifter and the location of the cables are the same as the automatic, so there's no extra cutting or grinding that is needed for the 92-00 auto/manual swap. The old civic I worked on already had a hole for the master clutch cylinder that was just plugged, but you will have to drill your own holes for the 2002. You will also have a problem with removing the key upon starting the car, for which you will have to actually unplug one of the cables near the steering column. If you aren't changing any harnesses or ecus for the time being, there is an annoying sensor on the automatic transmission itself that gauges which point the automatic shift lever is set at (e.g. park, neutral, etc). If you don't have that sensor set on park, you won't be able to physically start the car, since it won't think it's in neutral. Other than that, it's more or less the same as swapping transmissions on an older civic.
