Default Main relay going out?

Gotta 96 coupe and I have a new fuel filter, and a new fuel pump. So I'm thinking my relay is bad. Today leaving work the pump didn't prime until after 15 mins. Turning the key back and forth a few times and I never hear the relay click those times unless I'm not hearing it. When the pump primes it sounds kinda weak. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Stock 96 Civic?

Does the CEL remain on steady when the pump won't prime?

Have you cleaned/tightened the G101 ground on the thermostat housing?

Have you tried swapping in a known good ECU?

It has a ls/v swap but I've had the same problem before that on the stock d. Checked the ground, tight. The cel stays on until the pump primes then goes away

My '95 Sedan does this, but it's a bad fuel pump. If I am pointing up an incline it will be rather hard to start.

I'll revert the ecu to the obd2 and see what happens

Hope that works, but in case it doesnt and you want to check the relay you can have this as a reference.

Could you guys explain why the ecu could be an issue?

Inspect the solder joints of the main relay. Resolder if needed.

If the main relay is fine, swap in a known good ECU because a bad one would cause the problem you're having.

Managed to get my hands on a p72 ecu and it cranked up. I just need to get myself a obd1 vtec ecu now to get away from the knock sensor code. Thank you guys
