lsvtec starting problem question
I have a 93 hatch with a low compression lsvtec swap. It is a 94ls bottom end with a 90 DA b17 gsr head. About every other day the car will start and run fine. Some days you can't hear the fuel pump kick on and for whatever reason, it will still start and run fine. Other days you wont hear the fuel pump kick on and it wont start. It just turns over like it has no compression. (if you hear the pump turn on and prime for 2 seconds then your golden) On days when it wont start (like today) I can try it again hours later and it will most likely start and run fine. I have tested the main relay and it's good. I tested the pump and it's fine (it's well grounded too) I have a socketed ECU with a number of different programs and they all do the same as far as if the car starts they work fine. I'm lost... What am I missing here? The only thing I could think is that it's the main relay acting up... another thing. If I roll start the car the ECUs continuous power to the pump seems to work. Should I maybe get a Main relay from an Integra or are they the same or what? Or is this something I'm going to have to deal with seeing as how it’s a low compression motor…
If you’ve have ever had a problem like this before. I would love to hear how it was resolved.
