Agreed, what ecu are you using OP? stock ecu's dont cooperate well with ls-vtec setups. It's best to go with a chipped ecu, preferably a p28 or have your current ecu tuned with a standalone system like Hondata s200/s300.

I have been babying it but a few times i took it to about 6800 and that was to check Vtec i hope the ECU will fix it but the oil level is good and every sensor is hooked up and it has a bunch of codes for sensors that the new Engine doesn't have, because its a 99 Ex with a B16a2 head with a B18a1 block and the idle sucks so bad when its not warmed up and if you hit the throttle it dies wich is kinda crappy.

Re: (CCCPRB)
search... check out what codes. fix problems. vtech isn't working? do you have 2 sensors on it or 1? if only 1 u may need the second. get that working. Get to work. and along with proper working ecu.

Damn dude I would not even turn that car up again until you get that p28, you should really read up and do some more research, your lucky you havent blown that sucker up. Make sure the p28 is chipped with atleast a b16 map and get it tuned in a hurry right after. ASAP.

I would tune that sucker before i even fired it up man. You can do damage within the first 30 seconds without proper tune N/A or Boost.

Check oil pressure for the vtech maybe? Is the oil full? And you don't necessarilly need to drive the car 4k miles to break it in. You can sit there with it in neutral revving it a certain way to break it in. I'm not sure of the exact way but at my shop, when we get motors back from the machine shop, a quick 30 minute session of revving it and holding it to certain rpms for a certan duration of time is what we do. I can find out and you can try it.

no, take it to the strip to break it in, or on the dyno, do some healthy pulls, just make sure its warmed up,
babying it is a myth
