Ls/vtec lacking power
Ok got the motor in running. Take it out for a ride, and it just won't get up and go like it should, it goes but goes nowhere fast. It has a brand new clutch. Any ideas?

have you checked the compression in all cylinders? Any CELs? Assuming it hasn't been tuned...
What ECU are you using? List your setup.

My first guesses would be cam timing or ignition timing. Fuel pressure?
Maybe your heads on backwards!? (exhaust and intake cams are swapped( haha, dont even know if thats possible))

Re: Ls/vtec lacking power
ok so nevermind, i sat there stared at it and used my head, to kind of eliminate things, and i narrowed it down to engine timing, not ignition timing, adjusted it a bit and BOOM!!!
it romps just as i would have expected, Vtec works and everything!
on the highway with an open header when vtec kicks in it is loud as can be!!!
its ****ing sicK. i think the first upgrade will be cams. its fast, but i already want to go faster.
