ls vtec idles high
I have a b18b1 with a b16 head and it idles at 2500 rpm. I have the motor in a 94 civic dx. The mods on the motor is a skunk2 intake manifold stock TB and a aftermarket fuel regulator. The timing is on point so wat can be the problem?

Re: ls vtec idles high
a gasket is leaking. for example, my lsvtec was idling around the same rpm. i shot some break clean around the engine to see a idle change and i found it, was the intake mani gasket for me.
so shoot some break clean around the whole motor and see if theres a change in idle.

Do you have any CEL's? do you have a vacuum leak? becuase alot of the time there are openings on aftermarket manifolds that you have to plug something into or block off. Otherwise it will idle high.

Re: ls vtec idles high
Brake clean didn't work. All vaccum lines are good. The MAP and TB sensors are hooked up correct, and the last time I checked I had a CEL for the O2 sensor. Could a blown head gasket be the reason?

had a similar problem on my D15B swap, the intake manifold gasket will cause it to act like a vaccuum leak/blown head gasket. the brake clean test works well. try it all around where the ITM meets the head.

I have CEL code 21 and 6. I'm going to check the TB gasket just in case. The TB and ITM gaskets are also new.

when the car is running at idle, spray the brake clean all around the gasket. not all the way around in one shot, but pick small areas and take time in between sprays. if you spray a spot and the car sounds like it's going to cut off or "bog down" then you've found your problem.

I done that and nothing happened, I also covered the 2 holes in the TB and it brought the idle down to 2 grand.

Re: ls vtec idles high
I checked the gaskets, vaccum lines and I blocked the bottom hole on the TB and also tried the brake clean. The CELs are cleared as well.
