I am going all motor. Using stock b16 head w/Stock cams for the moment. Just trying to get road worthy and go from there.

I got my motor back from the shop Friday. I am just trying to find someone who can drill the 13mm holes for the dowels in the crank caps and the crank girdle. I have taken it to two shops and neither could do it.....(any help here would be appreciated, if you know someone how I could ship this to and get done this would be great). Heres the pics.

PR3 pistons, LS rods freshly shot peened.....

Just need to get caps drilled and I am ready to build......

Looking good...keep us updated. I'm thinking about doing the same thing soon, taking out the b16a3 and dropping in the ls. Some people say why but I say hoooo, hooo.

Hello again, I have everything back from the machine shop, and I have started to assemble. Taking long enough huh....I took everythink to the machine shop and after 10 weeks got it back. They did not even drill the 13mm holes for the dowels for the Girdle. I took the caps elsewhere and they drilled the holes. I got everything together 2 weekends ago and a friend helped me get the rings sized in and we put the pistons in. I went back last weekend and was check clearences on the bearings and noticed that I did not get the 1 and 5 main cap back from the shop. When I purchased my oilpan the guy sent 5 GSR maincaps with it. So I took 1 and 5 to the machine shop. They said they would linebore for free since they fucked up. I went to pick it up this morning and they said the number 5 cap was .002 off and would not support the bearing. I went back to my town, about 45 minutes away and took back the 2,3,4 caps and the used one of them and line bored it. Long *** road.......but here are the pics......

Freshly Line Bored

Here is the jerryrigged #5 cap.

Pistons in..

2 Shots of GSR girdle on LS block.....

With any luck I will have the bottom end done this weekend and pull the b16 next weekend!!

The #5 cap is acually a #2 GSR cap...it was line bored and it measured up on the money...I feel like it is jerry rigged but it should be no different......
