Low idle and rises when tapping the brakes HELP
Okay so when I turned on my car this morning it struggled to start. when i went to turn it on again after driving it and had it stopped for a while it didnt want to start. I tried three times to start it and it would struggle until i finally turned it on and revved it. then the idle went down to around 500, the idle usually went down to 500 after i drove it for a while. but now its everytime i start it. i asked some guy at autozone and he told me it was a vacuum leak. but i used starter fluid and sprayed some hoses near the intake manifold and no luck. couldnt find the vacuum leak. also while tapping the brake the lights on my dash dim just a little, very unnoticeable unless you really look at it. i have a check engine light but it says its just the primary o2 sensor. and suggestions?

Re: Low idle and rises when tapping the brakes HELP
its it cranking slowly or cranking fine but not actually starting.
From what you are describing, I am guessing it is your battery. Take it to a mechanic (or back to Autozone I guess, but I don't recommend them whatsoever) and have them test the battery along with the charging system.
With the cold weather the battery may be on its last leg and there is the possibility that the alternator is not charging the battery

Brake rev up is normal.
I would try a fresh battery. Sometimes these cars run crappy with a weak battery.
Fix the CEL.

Re: Low idle and rises when tapping the brakes HELP
okay so i went to autozone and had them check my battery and they said it was all good, 100% charged. now my car sometimes struggles to turn on like today it randomly did but turned on right away and idled fine for once. but when i tapped on the brakes the rpms went up a little as usual i assume and then it went back to the rough idle at 500 rpms. but when i pushed the throttle a little it went back to normal idle. i tapped the brakes again and rough idle came back. Pressed the throttle again and it went back to normal rpms o__O idk whats wrong

I would take off the throttle body, clean the whole thing and get the carbon deposits off of it. Sometimes that can clog up the holes. There should be two or three moving parts on your throttle body. Make sure they all move freely.
Also, maybe check your PCV valve while youre at it.
