it really depends on the driver, the condition of the motor, and so on. average expect to hit mid 14s.

A guy at work has a Greddy kit on his 99 Ex coupe. He said he ran a 15.4 1/4. Its a auto Just exhaust on 16" ZR tires.

I hit mid 14's on a DRAG3 turbo D16Y7 running stock boost (7psi) and 2.5" exhaust, no other mods.
So I assume with a D16Y8 you'll get into mid-low 14's running 7psi.

I can't decide what i wanna do. Should i play with my d16 or just send it to the junkyard like everyone else is doing? I think you could recieve a lot of respect if you had your car running quick with a d16.

Re: For the love of baby Jesus, if you own a turbo D16Y8, speak up. (RedHatch)
it's cheaper in the long run to run a sohc vs. a dohc. parts is something breaks is gonna be a hella lot cheaper. if you blow the motor your looking at spending $600-$900 for a motor compared to $3400 for a b18. strip the interior and get slicks and add more boost. if it's in a 5th gen hatch it will rip. personally my greddy kit is giving me probs but i think i bogged it down w/ to much fuel and the motors comp. isnt equal, but.........good times can be made, but the key is DRIVING. think about it

Built D16Y8 in 95 DX hatch. Nuformz blockguard,Crower rods, SRP pistons, arp head studs, Ferrera stainless valves, balanced and blueprinted, DRAG III @ 12-14 psi, Tial wastegate, HKS bov, DX tranny ACT carbon/kevlar clutch, Tanabe Super Medallion exhaust, no cat, AEM fuel Rail, VAFC, AVC-D. never run it or dyno but all of the "experts" I talked to before doing this setup said it should put down about 200-210 hp to the ground and run high 12's low 13's. All I know is it will **** alot of people up because they don't expect an SOHC to come with it!!

It all depends on how light the car is. Turbo D16's are great in light hatches, OK in coupes.
My full interior '95 EX coupe on 8psi with the greddy kit on stock tires ran consistent 13.9's at 97.5-98.5 mph.
My bro's '94 CX hatch w/D16Z6 with full interior, stock tires on 8psi with the greddy kit ran 13.5-13.7 at 100-101.5 mph.
My gutted '92 VX hatch w/jdm-spec D16Z6(sohc vtec ZC) on only 5psi with the greddy kit is definitely in the 13.5-13.8 range. I haven't actually run it yet but based on lots of seat and track time in 5 different greddy turbo'd D16 5G civics, I'm 99% positive my estimate is right on.
I hope this info helps!
