Default loud whirling noise coming from the rear

my center caps were not on the car when i bought it and haven't been for quiet some time

i hear a loud whirling noise could that be the bearings?

if so is it hard to replace?

btw i have a 93 honda hatchback, maybe im not used to it...

I had a similar noise coming from my front and the problem was wheel bearings. I dont know if I could describe it as whirling though. It was more like a...well i guess whirlling could describe it.

if your bearings arent shot completly after a while of hearing it and trust me youll notice.....it could be your rear suspension...i had a bent trailing arm and the aligment made it sound all wierd especially after the tires started going out.

Check your tires pressure. A low tire will make a 'whirling' noise as it rides along. Also keep in mind that different Tarmac surfaces and types make noises when driven over.

thanks for all your posts!

umm its not the tires i have Toyo T1-S tires they never made that sound on my del sol when I had them on the car.

my suspension is all tight just installed new rear arm shocks and neuspeed springs

the reason why i think my bearings are making the noise is because some retard grinded off the oem center caps.

urgh such headache now... what do you guys recommend doing to place the part. I have drum breaks in the back should i just change the whole assembly? or just order a part of ebay like this one?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWD1V

now sure if that will go...

might as well, if you have the cash. if you get rear discs and have the cash try to get a 40/40 valve.
