My car recently started making a really loud arrr , (my sister noticed that from outside the car it sounds like wooosh sound almost like a turbo) sound when accelerating in first. Once you shift into second it goes away.
What could be associated with this.
I know this isn't allot of info, it just keeps kind of bothering me, and its hard to explain the sound.

Not sure but my car makes a very 'distinct' noise while accelerating in first gear, too. It's kind of a high pitch 'whirring' sound. I think it's normal because my last Civic did it as well. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Other then change the ignition coil, and change the oil no.
The clutch got changed about mid April.
Two new tires about a month ago.
Other then that nothing.

Yeah, I think it's normal. You can hear it really pronounced when you take it up to second really slowly.

But I've never heard it before, thats what scares me.
I think I know of the sound you are talking about, the whiirrrr sound that all civics have. The sound I'm thinking of is more pronounced and bad sounding.

how many miles do you have on your tranny and when was the last time that you changed the tranny fluid?

199,738 or so, about a year ago I changed the fluid.
In there now I have AMS Oil synthetic 10W40

rodrez.

Could be a lot of things, but what you're describing reminds of a bad throw out bearing, it makes a "whirrrr" sound as you accelerate.

I believe it’s only in first gear.
When I coast there is no sound.
If I down shift and coast there is a slight sound, but not like the one when I’m in first.

ya mine does that right about when you hit 20 mph, really weird sounding too

sounds kinda like an input bearing in your tranny.. when it starts making noise put ur foot on the cluthc and see if it goes away...
