Loud obnoxious squeaking sound...
I get a really loud squeaking sound around my front driver side wheel. I thought it was my pads going bad so I picked up some Hawk pads and replaced it. Took it out for a drive it went away. Now its back again! It occurs when I reverse or start moving. Above 15mph is goes away. It sounds like that metal tab scraping the rotor telling me I need new pads but obviously I don't. Where else can I look to fix this problem?!!!!
TIA!
TIA!

My piston in the caliper was stuck out, so i lubed it and recessed it a few times and its back to normal, but one of my pads was dead, and one side of my rotor was completely worn, bad stuff.

Re: (EGBuddy)
WOW don't do that petrolium products and the rubber in the calipers don't play well together and it will not fix the problem. When you changed the pads did you have the rotors resurfaced or replaced? Did you install all the shims and add an anti squeak compound to the back of each brake pad? Last question did you clean and relube all the caliper slide pins with a synthetic caliper grease and check for proper funtion of caliper? That is where I would start looking. Wow Wd-40 to fix brake problems I am not to sure but this is the 3 or 4 post about using WD-40 to fix brake or clutch problems and it is a really bad idea
