lost all my coolant, now engine wont stay running
Alright, my car is a stripped shell that was put back together, i have a turbo b18b1 civic hatchback.
i capped off one of the heater lines coming out of the block, and after a year it busted on me, shooting all the coolant straight into the cabin area, and all over the engine bay.
the car wont stay running and isnt responsive at all, but i got it home.
also when i jump off the connector to check the CEL code, the cel light doesnt blink it just sits there illuminated.
did i just short out my ecu? why is the light on and not blinking?

i heard sumwhere that the steady cel while checking is a bad ecu. but why the expletive would u cap off a coolant line.. how the hell did it run???. the coolant system is a thru system.
like a 0. what goes thru point a will eventually come back to point A. so.......

Re: (SoHc94)
it was for the heater system that i removed, so i capped them off. the car ran great, ran a 9.2 on a stock ls in the 1/8th mile
the water shot into the cabin so im betting on that it fried the computer. thanks for the help
also i cut the car off and coasted to the side of the road immediately when it happened, how long did i have to turn it off before it over heated? is there a chance it overheated even though it lasted so shortly

Re: (memorybox)
if you took out the heater core you are suppose to connect the two hoses together that cme outta the engine going into the heater core. and a 9.1 in a 1/8th of a mile is only a 13.9-14.2 1/4 mile

Re: (fmrprojects)
he asked how it ran and i said it ran fine. i am not claiming to be fast lol.
also yeah i did route two of them into each other so my bad that was probably the heater ones, i did end up capping two other ones off though im not sure where they went to though, but the one that burst was aiming straight at the firewall, closer to the passenger side from the heater ones
