Default Loss of power running open header?

Heys guys, I recently got my N/A gsr tuned without exhaust. The result was 177 to the wheels, that would be cool if I didn't have stage 4 cams that are capable of at least 220 to the wheels. They are buddy club cams and the website rates them at 250hp, I'm still trying to find out there set up. My question is could the fact that I'm running open header be the reason for such a huge power loss?

umm no exhaust no back pressure and will make car run diff. just kie using a 3inch on a n/a motor creates loss of back pressure as well. why r u running open headers?

Those figures vary upon compression. 177 on those cams with a stock compression, yes you are over camming your motor. If you want that 220 your gonna have to run some higher comp pistons (11.5ish). Of course this is on 91 (cali) or 93 (everywhere else) oct. I suggest you go through some of the threads in the All Motor forum and come up with some solutions and goals for your setup. If touching your bottom end isnt your thing then get rid of the cams and go with some good stage 2's. Hell there are people getting 195whp with a stock bottom GSR and Blox Type B's with i/h/e/im.

Im running open header for now cuz my exhaust was welded to a D series header I will have it fixed in two weeks.

I had the block rebuilt and I'm using .025 oversized type R pistons with stock gsr rods the head is all buddy club ie. (Springs, retainers etc....).

just because you have stage 4 cams that are rated for a bazillion horsepowers doesnt mean installing them gives you that... 220 whp N/A is not an easy goal.... your going to need alot of tuning and more than just bolt ons to achieve it
