loose steering
hey the steering in my 94 del slo is loose - the wheel can rotate a few inches each way before the car starts turning. I hit a rock a while ago and bent a tie rod. I subsequently replaced all the tie rods and ball joints and fixed everything back to perfect oem with new parts.
it's pissing me off, I want my car to handle better and the steering to be tight so the car turns when I turn the wheel.
I have powersteering in my car and I have poly bushings for the power steering rack but I never installed them. i don't think they would help that much but i will install them eventually...
any ideas? thanks

Re: loose steering
Get someone to look under the car while you turn the wheel. Have them look for something loose. Obviously do this with the car stopped, not with them hanging over the hood while taking an interstate offramp.
Maybe the rack is loose and in need of repair or replacement, maybe bushings, who knows.
This is a good time to get in there and really give the whole suspension a good shake down.

Re: loose steering
good words. I will jack the car way up, play with the steering wheel and have someone watch underneath. If anything is fcuked up, I will find a manual steering rack and swap that in :D
time to replace bushings too..
