Looking for del Sol. Any extra problem areas versus regular Civic?
Well yeah. My EK was hit, and I'm looking for a Si Sol shell, which I believe I have found one. The plan is to swap my EK front + CTR lip, wheels, sideskirts, Skunk 2 coilovers, Recaro knockoffs, ect onto it.
I need to know other common things to look out for compared to a normal Civic.

Roof seal & trunk seal leaks are the only big ones I've heard about. Lube your seals with shin-etsu grease - it's great stuff. honda dealers have it.

Don't knock the Sol.
But yes, roof seals check them for leaks. Make sure it locks and unlocks good, make sure it fits in your trunk.
Other then that just the basic, makre sure everything is in working condition.

Also, if the roof seals leak, and you still get the car, be sure to replace them with the newer style seals.
They redesigned the seals to stop the leaks, issued a recall for all older cars, but it seems like everyone I knew with a Sol from that era didn't take theirs in. It seems like that asshattery was S.O.P. for Sol owners since a couple friends who've bought Sols since their discontinuation have been stuck with the old seals.
And that recall is long dead, so you'd need to replace the seals on your own dollar. Honda hasn't sold the old seal design since they did the recall, so if you buy OEM then you'll get the new design.
Rust develops in the same spot as on other EGs, right where the rear bumper meets the rear wheel well.
Not sure why the hell everyone harps on the Sols weight, they're only heavy if your comparing them to a stripped Civic CX HB or CRX HF - they're about the same weight as a coupe or sedan.

Yeah I give a **** about weight.
I've owned DC2, EK coupes, EG coupes, EK hatchs and a couple CRX's. I HATED the EK hatch and the CRX's. I have to have full power options, you lightweight lovers can roll up your own windows, and wish you had a sunroof in the summer. You also get to spend time adding EX/Si options and bigger brakes to them anyway, basically negating some of the weight difference. I'll just keep my heavy but comfortable Civics.
And dont give that **** that its just a Civic and doesnt need to be comfortable. My ***. All that power is great, so is AC and PS.
Plus hatches are ugly.
Holla.

its not a biggy but when i had mine, the glove compartment was broke and the a/c **** also. i have seen other del sol like that too. if your careless they will break like mine. i liked the del sol, it was a nice car where you had an excuse not to be a taxi driver for others.

Yeah I'm also curious why everyone thinks del sols are heavy. I weighted my 94 SI with my b16 and that was with things in the car and it weight in at 2380. Pshhtt...not that heavy.

Re: (str8linek)
This site has a MT 94 del sol SI at 2414:
http://hondaswap.com/reference...8662/
I'm not that far off from that. I have A/C removed, pretty light aftermarket steering wheel, and also different wheels than the stock SI ones...although idk if that makes much of a difference.

Yes. But I wasn't in the car so that doesn't really make a difference.
