A little mini-me help
I have a 2000 civic dx (with a d16y7) and I am getting a 92-95 si motor (sohc vtec) I think its a d16z6 but I am not sure. I am getting the motor for next to nothing and I am wondering if it would be compatable for me to swap some things over like.
A. The intake manifold
B. The vtec head
Now I am sure that when swaping the head I will swap over the manifold and everything else, which is fine because I have the complete motor and tranny and even an aem cam gear. I am just wanting a temporary setup while I save for a swap, plus I absolutely hate the intake manifold currently on my car.
If anyone could give me a little help on this that would be greatly appreciated, I did search for this but I really didn't see anything about what I was looking for.

Re: A little mini-me help (black2kcivic)
you may want to search and/or ask around on this board:
http://pub143.ezboard.com/bhondadseries
i think there may be a problem since your car is odbII and the motor is odbI. you may have to do a lot of engine harness wiring work to pull it off, but i really am not sure. as for a mini-me, i've been told the intake manifold from the d16y8 is better in terms of flow. again, wiring may be a pain if trying to use the z6 im.
here's a link about the theory of the mini-me swap:
http://crx.honda-perf.org/articles/m...oreminime.html
and a great link about installing the y8 im on a y7 motor that might give you an idea how the d16z6 im install might go onto a y7:

other mini-me links:

i hope that helped...

Re: A little mini-me help (Civic4doors)
Yeah thats a really good board with good information, I just thought I would post it here since this is more my "home" than anywhere else. Also I thought I would break the cycle of "look at my car" or "what colors did 92-95 civics come in".
Thanks for the help so far though.
keep it coming.
