Default List Your Car's CURB Weight HERE:

Open to all 1988-2001 Civics:

Like the title says, please list YOUR car, not your FRIEND's car's CURB weight. CURB weight is the ACTUAL weight of you car - NOT the weight listed inside the doorjamb. That weight is way over because it's the Gross Vehicle Weight - meaning FULL possible capacity.

List your vehicle weight like this please:

Car's set-up, WHERE you weighed the car, and then the weight.

Here I go:

1992 Civic Si Hatchback
B18C5 engine swap
FULL interior minus spare tire
3 strut bars
GS-R front brakes (bigger, heavier)
15'' Rota Circuit 8 (12 lbs. a piece)
1/4 tank of gas

I weighed it at at Sliver Dollar Dragway's scale (local dragstrip)

Weight: 2280lbs. NO occupants.

I'm trying to compile a comprehensive list of vehicle's weights. Primarily the differences between the 1992-1995 hatchback, coupe, and 4-doors. I'm also trying to see the difference between various trim levels and with different motors too.

If you MUST list a friend's car, then PLEASE list the necessary set-up stuff and WHERE it was weighed. PLEASE list ANYTHING that might affect the weight - sus, brakes, gutted or not, gas amount, wheels, etc.

Thanks!

***EDIT***

This is old as hell back when I had my 1992 Si hatch.

I've since moved to a 1992 CX and stripped loits of crap out of it and added my B18C5 and 4-wheel discs, etc.

I'll be more specific later, but for now i'll just say it weighs:

2040lbs.

My car is under 2000lbs I know that....
That's great and all, but you didn't include ANY helpful info on your car, and did you even weigh the car?

The above post is NOT what I'm looking for here. That statement does not tell us ****. Please if you're going to post up on this thread, PLEASE include the info listed.

Thanks.

Bumper supports? Jesus those are pretty heavy. 2385 is pretty damn light for that EX 4-door.

You understand that the bumper suuports will help your car from being totalled, right? I was contemplating keeping mine out, but i think they're too important for safety - yeah I'm a bitch.

The bumper supports are there to lessen the damage at the 5mph bumper test by IIHS.. My other civic in Asia didn't come with bumper supports so when you hit a pole while parking you have to change the whole bumper..

I have put my bumper supports back on so my front bumper won't be sagging and to avoid any big damages in case my *** got kissed.. Those supports weight about 11lbs each..

SPOON EG. How much gas did you have in the car? Think about it, pick up ONE gallon of milk and see how heavy it is. Now think how heavy TEN gallons of gas would be...I had 1/4 tank.

93 civic cx w/ ls motor and hx wheels.
No a/c, ps.
I removed the rear seats, all inside panels besides the dash(no radio, speakers, center consoul, glove box(it was broken anyway))
no bumper supports, airbags. I have a lighter steering wheel. I removed the underbracing on the stock hood (still weighs over 20lbs).
w/ a 1/4 tank of gas my car weighed in at 1960lbs.(no driver)

In the near future I will remove the dash, heater, and blower. I also want to get a cf hood and some lightweight seats. My goal is to be well under 1900lbs.

Edit: I also have an integra front sway bar, and no name front and rear upper strut bars.

99 Civic Si

The stuff that would drop weight:

Del Sol seats
Fiber Images CF hood
GReddy 4-2-1 header
Mugen Twinloop
Spare removed, jack still in.

car weighed in at 2715 w/ me in it and a bit more than a half tank. I weigh 198.

It was weighed on the scale @ New England Dragway.

Not too bad for a porky Si.

BTW: I think removing the bumper reinforcements is just not a good idea safetywise. Losing a few pounds isn't worth dying or being seriously injured.

1992 honda civic si
prettty much stock, a/c, power steering, 17's, no rear seats, paneling, or spare tire. it weighed 2160 w/o me at local truck stop.
Did anyone else find that low weight hard to believe? Rear seats and paneling are NOT that heavy - and you had 17's too? A/C and power steering too? That scale MUST be wrong.

BTW: I think removing the bumper reinforcements is just not a good idea safetywise. Losing a few pounds isn't worth dying or being seriously injured.
Gamby: I agree completely. Although the weight saved is a lot, it's way too unsafe for the occupants in the car AND the car itself. Those bumpers can keep the car from being totalled - I would **** if my car was totalled because I was trying to save 20lbs. 20lbs. is a LOT when you're trying to be as light as possible, but I just can't do that.

My NEW setup with my 1992 CX will be the following:

Exterior:
1992 CX body
1998 B18C5 swap
15''Rota Circuit 8 (12lbs. a piece)
AEM CAI
Tanabe Racing Medallion (lighter than stock?)
NO wiper motor or wipers (heavy little ****!)
Adding FastBrakes WilWood dynalite calipers and 11.1 rotors - saves 8lbs. per side AND 4-pot stops better than stock for sure...

Interior:
NO tar (doesn't weigh a lot anyways
NO carpet (again, not that heavy)
NO firewall mat (this is a heavy bitch!)
NO A/C - never had A/C - nothing under dash to remove
NO airbag computer or wiring harness (dense metal box and harness)
NO paneling at all - no door, rear, or headliner (can't weigh too much though)
No spare

I AM keeping my heater core though - A/C I don't care, but I NEED a heater!

Other options are a header, non-airbag steering wheel (no ECU for it anyways), tubular control arms (saves 24lbs!)

I'm shooting for 2050. that's my goal. At 2280 I turned a 13.9@100.97. With only 2050 and the 4.929 Final drive i'm shooting for low 13's on street tires.

I'll also add the interior pieces as I can afford NEW ones. With the whole car being painted, I'll be able to handle no interior - it'll probably actually look really good since the inside will be as shiny as the outside.

Enough edits? Jeez...
