OMG, this is so exciting

Are we trying to guess the model of NGK plugs or are we trying to read some sort of decoded message on this car that is running rich on three cylinders?

What are we looking for? Ignition issues or visual condition of your valve assembly? How many miles after the last time you replace the spark plugs and changed your oil? Again what are we looking for?

For as of a nasty engine bay you have, those internals look good. Wish my valve cover looked like that.

I really want to clean the engine bay up. What is the best way to do that?

Is it de-greaser, let sit then power wash?..

Super clean... Not purple power or anything like that. Super clean really does what is advertised.

I would buy a 16oz bottle of super clean buy some wire brushes and rags. Id do it by hand, not a fan of throwing water in my bay. Takes some time but it surely pays off.

I would advice you take off the timing belt cover and inspect the belt for frays, cracks, or tire like wear, look at the teeth on the belt. Looks like yours was never changed.

If you are looking to see the condition of your motor, take an oil sample to blackstone. They will examine your oil and tell you the contaminants.

What motor is this supposed to be?

The head has roller rockers and I thought roller rockers in the 92-95 was only on the VX D15Z1 motor?

The head pictured above is a P2J, the D15Z1 (P07-1) is similar, but the spark plug holes are on the opposite side.

Come on man, you're supposed to be a moderator here, you're the one that's supposed to be schooling us on these matters.

Someone get RonJ in here to show this newbie moderator how it's done.

Oh. My. GOD. Even I wouldnt talk to TomCat39 like that...

And, I am assuming that this is confirmation that this IS a D16Z6 motor? ? I never did get 100% confirmation as to if this engine really is "from a 2000," as this seller told me - and MAY have lied.

Water Pump/Timing belt (chain??) job - by someone else or with help- is a real possibility.

Changed Fast Idle Air Valve today.
Flush has begun.

Yesterday:
- Removed/inspected VC
- Spark plugs changed
- Spark plug wires changed

2 days before that:
- Oil change
...

Can change spark plugs, but can't find and read the engine code?

Can't say for sure what year this engine is unless you post the exhaust manifold side of the head as well as the engine code, but I can say for sure that the head came off of a 96-00 Civic HX.

Also, I must admit that I've been trolling. TomCat39, RonJ@HT, slomofo, EsotericImage, Clayton, deschlong, toyomatt84, NotARacist, and Mad Mike are one person. I have so many screen names because it looks stupid when one guy answers all the tech questions. I argue with myself to make it look like we're different people, but we're not.

PS - Needs a drop and a lip

This is correct. Knowing where to look would be helpful.

There is a thread for that...

When was the last time you replace those spark plugs? Regular maintenance is always a plus.
