Default LET ME GET YOUR OPINION ON SOMETHING.

JUST RECENTLY I DECIDED TO GO ON KELLEY BLUE BOOK.COM TO SEE WHAT MY 99 SI IS WORTH. ITS GOT 105K ON IT BUT STILL IN GREAT SHAPE, BUT KBB SAYS THAT ITS STILL WORTH 10K. THIS CANT BE TRUE. I WAS JUST WONDERING WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT TO SEE A CLEAN *** 99 SI GO FOR?

I'd say 10k is about right. It's a Honda, not a Ferrari.

Clean EBP SI, high mileage you could get between 7500 -(on honda tech or another enthusiast web site) to about 10.5 from some Ricer.

BTW your garage at work is sick clean man, i wish my work enviroment was that clean for Toyota.

yes that sounds like the right price

i work at a credit union we do alot of auto loans and we sell something called gap insurance (pm for details) on the gap website we have a graph that shows what a car will be worth at the end of the loan. 9 times out of 10 hondas are worth the same if not more.

and not only that you can turn around and sell it to some dumbass 16 yearold for 2 times that.

**** tell him that its the only honda with dual vtec, like haveing twin turbos. the fastest dual vtec honda in the world he will buy it for 50g's

There are many factors in determining how much a car is worth. The four big ones are condition, mileage, demand and location. There are other factors such as color and options but let's not get too overwhelmed. Kelly Blue Book's values are considered the highest in appraisals so I don't tend to go by them. When I want to know how much a vehicle is worth I use something called a market report. The market report that I use comes from Manheim Auto Auction- they have hundreds of auctions nationwide and tens of thousands of cars are sold through them daily. They compile information on each car that is sold through their auctions and put it into their report so you can see what other people are paying and determine what the market/going price is. In this specific one you can key in your vehicle specs (i.e.- '99 Civic Si) and see what other similar cars have sold for. As of 8/9/05 the nation average for a '99 civic si with around 88k is about $6900 according to the Manheim Market Report. By the pictures I would say your car is in above average condition. If you are selling the car privately you could start out at $9000 and see if anyone is interested. If no one bites, lower the price. Honda’s do have great residual value.

Sorry but I would not pay 10K for an si with over 100K miles.

I see them here going for 7K-8K with 60K miles.

You are just 1 of many. Are you in the market to buy an Si currently? Things change when people are in the market to buy something, therefore people are sometimes willing to pay more for something.

for example people selling beanie babies. to some people they are worth hundreds of dollars. to me, they are worth 2 or 3 dollars.

Supply and Demand.
