Alright, i'm tired of my gauge cluster and CC being a little too dark, so i'm looking to replace the bulbs with some leds from here http://www.superbrightleds.com/

I've seen a write up that used these, but I cant find it.

My question is, what LEDs will I need to fit in my gauge cluster and CC?

This is in a 94 del Sol by the way.

Any help would be great guys!

Well I searched some and found http://www.autolumination.com and they have leds that split all over the place.

What bulbs do I need tho, There are 7 i'm going to replace in the cluster, and 2 in the CC.

Do I need all 74s, or 24s?

leds can be alot brighter and you get more color options but only if its done right. you need to find the leds that give off the most light in all directions.

yes you will get hot spots with most leds because they concentrate so much light in one point (like a flash light).

i never did them in my civic but i did LEDs in my truck and i love it

I dont want amber..I want a solid BRIGHT white and I really wanna try LEDs.

Bump, What bulbs do I need? I heard 2 24's and 5 74's?

So would the 24s go in the CC? I looked at all the bulbs in my sol and the gauge cluster bulbs look identical to the CC bulbs, are the 24s the same size just brighter?

It's been a hella long time since I've done this, but I think it's 2 #74's in the CC, and like 1 in the cluster...and then like 5 #24's in the cluster.

Though I only did it twice, once on an EJ1, and once on an EJ8 - never did it on a del sol - so I don't know what the rear of the climate control nor cluster are like..

The physical difference is the size of the bulb.

Check my thread for more info, and reconsider doing LED unless you wanna spend some SERIOUS coin and modify your cluster.

The only way I found to make the gauges REALLY bright was to use LED flexstrips.
Here is how mine look (sorta, this is another person's pic but it's the same idea minus the auto gauge listing)

and then a pic of mine (cellphone camera) lit up fully assembled

and then my hvac



For the flexstips, I got them of Oznium.com, I used the "flexible led strips" for the gauges and the "Ribbon led strips" for the hvac since the smaller led units allowed better installation and allowed me to have a set shining down to light up the sliders.

Oh and yes they're blue, but you can seriously do any color they have (thus why so many people do amber gauges with painted bulbs).

I think im going to just go with leds from http://www.autolumination.com They seem like they will fit the part quite well.

Alright how much bigger are 24s than 74s? Because the bulbs in my del Sol's CC are the same size as my gauge cluster bulbs, so im thinking they are all 74s. Or am I wrong and there are some 24s?

I really dont know if I want to go LED strips, i'd prefer LED bulbs, but im interested to see how it goes.

I bout the bulbs from autoilumination, i think it was 56.00 for them all. It turned out really nice. Alot brighter than stock. Heres a link to mine- http://viewmorepics.myspace.co...41654
Edit: Im missing a 24 between the fuel and coolant gauges. They only sent me two, i e-mailed them back telling them they forgot a bulb but i never heard back from them. Oh well. Its not so bad without it, the pic doesnt do justice either.

Yeah i did the same thing to my cluster too, but i have the 99-00 SI cluster so that means that the backing is amber. and when i put the new LED's in it was still amber in color but some spot where white, and amber.
And i also shop at http://autolumination.com/74.htm, they got alot of stuff, get the ones with like 3 to 5 bulbs so there isnt any hot spots, thats where i went wrong hope that helps

i just finished my cluster, it looks good but for some reason my Temp gauge isnt working right.

what length did you use for the cluster? is the 9.5" long enough?
