Default Leaking fuel from gas tank area? Need help.

My buddy had a problem with his car starting. The car turns over but doesnt start all the way. As we began to troubleshoot, I noticed a puddle of gas on the floor. Jacked the car up and fuel was litterally pouring down. We didnt have much time to further look into it today, but tomorrow we will narrow down the leak. It doesnt seem to be coming from the tank itself but rather from one of the hard lines or something close . Could this prevent the car from not starting? Has anybody ever seen anything like this before.

Car is a 92 cx.

Fi, you make yourself sound like you dont know **** about cars. Thanks for posting the pics though. Anyways, we know that is what is preventing the car from starting, and we know its coming from a line. The gas only comes out when you turn the key on. Time was short today, so we didnt get much deeper. Anyone have experience with such problems? I mean, Im pretty sure there is only one fuel line that is being blocked by the heat shield under the car, which is probably causing all this. So basically, does anyone have any info/advice before we go figure it out for ourselves tomorrow? Thanks!

isn't the fuel system pressurized? if the fuel system has a leak, then the pump couldn't build pressure in the fuel lines. so in theory, that could prevent fuel injected cars from starting. or at least that would make sense.

take it to honda, no matter how much i know about honda's i would not mess with the gas tank. How ever fuel pumps, injectors, FP regulators and filters are a different story.

Oh man. Not good news. Thanks for the replys though. So, you dont think we should take off the heat shield by the gas tank (as shown in pics )? Disconnect all power to the car and go from there? I was hoping I could just take that off and see whats going on. It was fairly obvious that it was coming from a line. What else is over there that would leak fuel? Keep the suggestions coming guys. I dont really have the money to go to Honda, but Im not trying to blow up either. Thanks guys. Much appreciated. Oh yeah, Fi, thanks *****. This car is a neverending problem.
