Default LCA/ SWAY BAR/ TIE BAR DISCUSSION.. what's the best brand???

Hey, so I am thinking about getting a 96 civic, it's got some nice mods like a gsr swap, and basic suspension upgrades, but I would want to stiffen up the rear end.

So I was looking on honda-tech for some used various parts and couldn't find much. Then I did a search on google and came upon the familar site of modacar.com. I was suprised by how cheap a seat of LCA's go for brand new from Omni, then I found another decently priced one from skunk2. So I thought I would ask which way I should go.. same story as far as sway bar and tie bar, a cheap traction bar, and bushing kit.

Questionable traction bar: only 50 bucks.. the others are like 500 and I couldn't spend that much on a traction bar system alone.

http://www.modacar.com/product....html

Lower Control arms: My price range is either the omni or skunk2.. which one?.. would front ones be a good investment... or the SPS front upper control arm kit at the bottom?

http://www.modacar.com/product...DACOA/

Sway bar: Which one?

http://www.modacar.com/product...DASWB/

Tie bar: Which one?

Only come in kits on the same lilnk above. So I guess I would have to get a kit, unless someone knows of a better setup to do. I don't mean to sound like I wouldn't want a kit.. I like the idea.

Bushings: Worth the 150? I heard it really livens up the suspension.

I believe all 96-00 LCAs come preholed for an endlink. You would not need to buy aftermarket LCAs. Buy an ASR subframe brace and ITR 22mm sway bar. The brace acts as a tie bar as well.

oh thanks man, I would never have thought of that product. It does look quice nice and looks like it would do everything I need. I may get new LCA's someday just because they look much nicer, but initially I won't want to spend any money on something that won't give me any advantage as far as handling or durability.

oh and is there any reason I shouldn't use a 23 mm itr sway bar? Is ITR the way to go or is there maybe another type that would be better? Used itr woudl probably be chaper and I know it's high quality, so i'll proabbaly stick with that.

I did some research and people were talking about all this kit stuff they need. I was thinking about just getting the ASR brace off of password jdm or if I found a good deal on honda-tech. Then the new itr bushings on passwordjdm, then the ITR bar assuming it comes with the stock clamps and bolts needed... what else would I need? Is there some kind of conversion kit I would need?

When it comes to strut bars and tie bars, try to always get 1 piece designs.

Yes

With the itr, I had to buy new endlinks for like $40 each, but I also just bought the bare bar. You shouldn't need anything if it comes with the endlinks.

you need endlinks if you don't get an si. rsx type s endlinks are the cheapest if you buy them new.

First off that 50 brace is not a traction bar, traction bars are adjustable, it does however tie similar points together and make the fornt end feel solid, I have one for my EG I still need to install but several of my friends have it.

For LCAs, my best reccomendation is OEM with the swaybar hole(I'm not into bling though).

For a swaybar, anything over 19mm make sure you get that ASR kit on there!

You won 't need a tiebar if you go with the ASR kit.

As for the bushings, unless you already have polyurethane ones, just stay with OEM or go to the mugen hard rubber....polyurethane wears out after 3-5 years.

Oh ok, thanks guys. You've been so helpfull so far. I am asking so much about this becuase there are so many options and I really want to do things the right way.

http://kingmotorsports.com/pro...Civic

There's that asr / sway bar kit. Yah I will buy that front brace, it's only 50 bucks so why not haha. My main thing is handling and I don't have a huge budget. I'll just slowly start adding things as I get money. So until then i'll go ahead with the ASR kit/ sway bar.

I found those function7's for 220 bucks.. damn they look nice haha. I'll deffinately have to get some someday when I got 220 to blow on looks lol.

Anyone reccomend any certain type of lubrication for installation when I buy the kit? So this 22mm. kit will work with the stock LCA's?

For the bushings I just used white lithium grease from a spray can and the ES supplied formula that came with the bushings.
