Konig Helium VS Curb
#51
Re: (HybridRacer)
Just to add my .02...
I have heliums too... they are REALLY SOFT... I hit a pothole that would have popped my old tires on the wheel but not affected the wheel. (I know because I hit a VERY similar pothole in those wheels) where as with the konigs the tire survived but the wheel got bent... a forged wheel would have been TOTALLY un-affected by this pothole.
As far as the break in the post... I would DEFINATELY prefer bending susp. and other parts with a stronger wheel so I still had control of the car instead of ok sups. etc but broken wheel with the weaker helium...
Also just because he lucked out and didn't have any other damage besides the wheel you MUST see that the potential for further damage is OBVIOUSLY with the weaker wheel... I can't believe nothing else got bend/destroyed... frankly I'm suprised he maintained control of the car...
Now having said all this.... this is why I buy cheap wheels... they're easily replacable.... like mentioned... I'd MUCH rather have a cheap easily replacable wheel over a sturdier more expensive wheel.
