Default Koni Srt.T + Ground Control Instalation

Hi,

I'm starting to build my 1993 civic SI, beginning with the suspension so, I bought a Koni Srt.T + Eibac Ground Control coilovers. The thing is that my mechanic told me that the shocks would not fit since I need to buy also the lower control arms. Is he right? I can buy them...but it is a huge investment.

Thanks in advanced:

This is my car, EH9 chassis (DOHC D16A9):

This are the shocks:

And the coilovers:

He's lying. Go somewhere else.
BTW if you lower too much on those shocks there's a real good chance you'll blow them out.

Hi, thanks for your answer. Yes...I read a lot about that...but what do you mean by "too much". Please could you post a pic?

Thanks.

Only if your bolts are seized or bushings shot., but why are you paying a mechanic to install shocks and springs, shocks and springs are the first real task that anyone takes on themselves....

And by too much you dont need a pic, you should.be able to fit.your.fingers inbetween your tire and fender.

Yes...I know...but I got the orange ones at $275 on ebay, the yellow ones where almost $500 and adding taxes it was too much for me. Maybe on my next upgrade. Also I don't want to get it too looowww because of all the bumpers that are on the streets.

I know what you mean, I'm like a "DIY guy", but this time my knowledge about car mechanics is practically null, this is my first car and I don't know too much about the mechanics and all the things that are implied. Maybe in the process I break something and that's the last thing I want to do. I rather do it with someone that has more experience and learn from it.

So, it would be ok if I just lower them to one finger between?

This post shows a 1.4/1 " drop: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=119957

For me is more than fine. Maybe next year I will go for something more agressive, maybe a tokico or the yellow ones.
