Knock Sensor and ECU question
Okay. I've got a 98 civic dx with intake, headers, exhaust, and a mini-me swap. So I'm running a d16y8 head on a d16y7 block. Problem is, I keep getting a check engine code and I checked it today and it turns out that it's 23 which I think is the knock sensor. I've had my mechanic look at it but he says that it's a false code. However, I was wondering if it had anything to do with the swapping of the ECU's when I did the head swap. I took out the old DX ECU and replaced it with my friends p2p ECU from his civic EX. Both cars are manual and everything. But, when I took my car to get it looked at the guy told me that I was running an OBD-1 ECU instead of OBD-2. I checked the ECU number today and it reads "3780-p2p-A31-921-128449". I know this is a stupid question but someone please help me out here. I need to know what ECU I'm running and what I can do about the knock sensor. I didn't even think that the d16y7 blocks had knock sensors. But I'm new to all of this so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

Re: Knock Sensor and ECU question (redcivdude)
The knock sensor plug , EACV plug, and Power Steering plug are all the same connector.... Assuming you didn't unplug the PS during the swap check and make sure that the knock sensor has only one wire, and that the EACV has only two wires... check this first, it seems to be a common mistake I see when I work on other peoples swaps done by someone not very qualified, LMK what you find
